Want to come work for us? Here’s what we’re looking for!

Investment Analyst (Resident Egg Head)

The ideal candidate will have an ultra-analytical mind, super-alert BS detector, and communication prowess that makes David Attenborough look like an amateur!

You may be an experienced analyst disillusioned with the asset management industry and arrogant enough to think you could help fix it. Or perhaps, you are a technical paraplanner looking for the next challenge that involves more in-depth investment and retirement research! In any case, you are definitely not afraid of searching for the proverbial needle in an investment haystack. You probably obsess quite a bit about data and ‘evidence;’ enough that other people are constantly irritated by your perfectly normal tendency to go on about it.

What’s the job?

This role sits at the intersection of investing, retirement and financial planning research. You’ll spend about half your time researching stuff and the other half waxing lyrical about your research to anyone who cares to listen, mostly financial advisers. The role varies daily and involves – but is not limited to – the following:

  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis of investment and retirement products
  • Leading key investment research projects including an extensive study of multi-asset funds, model portfolios, platforms, robo-advice and retirement propositions
  • Attending and presenting at investment committee meetings
  • Researching and presenting on sustainable withdrawal rate strategies for retirement portfolios
  • Giving software demos to financial advisers on sustainable withdrawal rate strategies
  • Writing articles and comprehensive reports on investment, platforms and financial planning
  • Conducting external research meetings with asset managers and product providers
  • Contributing to relevant team projects and ongoing development of the firm

You’ll have the flexibility to work remotely, spending a day or two a week in the office and visiting clients.

  Got the skills?

  • Working knowledge of funds, asset allocation and portfolio construction is essential
  • Experience of research software such FE Analytics, Morningstar AWS etc.
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential. MATLAB and other programming languages are a plus
  • IMC qualified or equivalent, at the very minimum. CFA Level I or higher gives you an edge

Are you the right fit?

  • This role is not for you, if you are looking to add a big-name company to your CV, you have zero personality or need to be told what to do at every step
  • We’d like to hear from you if;
    • you want greater autonomy over your work and are keen to make a dent in the UK’s retail investment universe, and have fun at the same time
    • you’re looking for the right environment to learn, grow, challenge and be challenged

  Remuneration package?

  • A competitive salary
  • Annual bonus based on your and the team’s performance
  • Non-contributory pension scheme
  • 25+ days holiday
  • Cost of professional qualifications and memberships of CFA Society/CII/PFS/CISI

Alternatively, we’re quite happy to pay in peppercorns, cowry shells, squirrel pelts or Bitcoin. The right person for the job? Send your CV and a cover letter on why we should consider you to hello@finalytiq.co.uk

Administrator (Director of Getting S*** Done)

Some people are clumsy, some are super organised, and some are neither here nor there. We don’t judge. That’s just how people are. This role is ideal for the super organised, eagle-eyed types.

You will have a knack for not only getting things done but also getting other people to do what you want them to do. In short, we only call you an administrator because a ‘freaking miracle worker’  isn’t a formal job title, yet.

What’s the job?

There’s a lot packed into this one role. That’s good and bad, depending on how you see things, but rest assured, you’ll never get bored. Let’s just say that you’ll spend half the time dealing with internal company stuff and the other half dealing with third parties including financial advisers, providers and others within the financial industry.

  • Gathering and organising financial data from multiple sources
  • Undertaking administrative duties including onboarding new clients, billing, invoicing and contracts
  • Managing relationship with clients (advisers and providers), and other third-parties such as the press
  • Working with the team to enhance the firm’s content and social media activities
  • Managing the diary, schedules and emails for the company founder/CEO, a delusional fellow who thinks he can change the world. Your job is to keep him on a short leash at all times. Oh, and good luck with that one

Got the skills?

We are not expecting a CV bursting with qualifications to be an administrator. But it certainly doesn’t hurt if you do.

  • High literacy and numeracy skills are essential
  • Great attention to detail and a good grasp of basic financial concepts. Experience within financial services is a big plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office. Good excel skill is essential for this role
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work

Are you the right fit?

  • This role is not for you, if you think some tasks are beneath you, you have zero personality or need to be told what to do at every step
  • We’d like to hear from you if hungry, great with people and you’re looking for the right environment to learn, grow, challenge and be challenged

Remuneration package?

  • A competitive salary
  • Annual bonus based on your and the team’s performance
  • Non-contributory pension scheme. This means we pay into a pension for you, even if you don’t want us to. Your future self with thanks
  • 25+ days holiday
  • Cost of professional qualifications and memberships of CFA Society/CII/PFS/CISI

Alternatively, we’re quite happy to pay in peppercorns, cowry shells, squirrel pelts or Bitcoin.
